just another day with a bunch of boys at the park ...

 

yuck.

7th grade homework

drew came home from school today
to tell me that his homework for the weekend
is to do 3 loads of laundry

i think i love 7th grade.

 

keeping busy

football season is well underway

alex is getting the hang of wearing full pads AND a helmet

ben is doing great
at his new corner back position

 

and drew is enjoying his last year

as a lion

 

 

our weekends are busy
BUT
last weekend we were so lucky
because my mom, larry and aiden
got to enjoy the busy-ness with us

    

larry even braved the LOVELY rainy weather that we had
and joined the chain gang
with drew and stacey

 

thanks for coming to visit us, guys

and aiden ...
when you get to start playing tackle ...
i know that you'll ROCK
and we'll come watch you too!! ;)

our last summer getaway

i'm slowing catching up from our whirlwind last month ...
so bear with me

the week before school started
we took advantage of our last few days
and went to visit stacey's brother, and family
at a lake house in southern wisconsin

 

we got there just as a crazy storm was blowing in

but we let the kids swim until the last possible second

and then watched carefully as the storm blew past us
with 60 mph winds -
and just barely missed hitting us with a large limb that blew off of a willow tree -
YIKES!

 the real excitement of the storm, however,
came when alex lost his third tooth of the week!
he had lost a tooth in the car on the way there
and then no more than 2 hours after getting there he lost a 2nd!!

immediately after the storm passed
the kids went outside to swim

and that's pretty much how they spent their next 2 days

  

  

 

 

 

 

 

we also threw in a little chess

some tubing

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and some time chilling in the fun lofts that the house had

i, of course, was in heaven
because i had a 6 week old baby niece to snuggle

i even gave stacey a turn
in hopes that he might decide he wants a 4th

i don't think it worked.

we had a great time visiting
and it was the perfect getaway before the busy first week of school
