snapchat fun * april edition

3 on 3 * blaine 2017

it's that time ...

alex and ben started 3 on 3 this week

alex is on a team with oliver, noah and nate

and ben is on a team with robbie, devin, and carson

this year ... 

there's one thing different

ben is a player AND a ref!

he spent all night reffing

and then played the last 2 games of the night

way to go, ben!

mn heat * weekend one

ben decided to play for the mn heat again this spring

today they played their first mini tournament/scrimmage

against other heat teams

their second game was against ben's friend jack's team

they were quick to decide they wanted to defend each other

we won both games

and most importantly

ben and jack seemed to have a lot of fun

nice work, ben!

staff appreciation * 2017

this week is secretaries week

which means we got spoiled

staff got us flowers

LOTS of candy

and a few other treats

i know how fun it is to get treats

SO ...

alex and i paid it forward for teacher appreciation

and got them a few treats

the PTO gave us breakfast two mornings

culvers brought in shakes for all of the staff

AND

they had a medallion hunt at the school

which i found on the 2nd day ;)

WOO HOO!!

it's too bad every week can't be staff appreciation ;)

my son, chimmy

stacey went to get the mail ...

he walked up to me with this letter

and want to know if his one beer he had with dinner affected him too much 

or if drew had changed his name ...

we had a letter from blaine high school

addressed to our address ...

to chimwemwe chinema

it was asking us to congratulate our son chimwemwe on his academic letter

we later learned that everyone had gotten a letter addressed to the wrong person

BUT

drew has already earned a new nickname ...

way to go, chimmy!

we are so proud of you!

last year we planted a few new rhododendron bushes

i LOVE them. 

i love that everything is just starting to turn green

i love that the weather is starting to warm up

and

i love that these flowers are bright and cheery

and remind me that summer will be here REALLY soon!

easter * part 2

this weekend we made the trek to wausau

to meet up with everyone and officially 'celebrate easter'

chewy may have been most excited ...

he sat waiting in the drivers seat while we packed the car

he probably heard he got to meet lola

although one he met her and she followed him around

i don't know that he was as excited ;)

drew and ben spent saturday golfing

with grandpa jim

we went for pizza at sams pizza

and

spent some time swimming at the hotel

safe to say ...

we wore them out

good thing because on sunday the sun was out 

stacey was thrilled

and we spent the day at grandma wendy's 

we had an egg hunt

had a great lunch

filled up on lots of candy at grandma's infamous easter 'candy bar'

and spent the day hanging with all the cousins
