first tournament 2013

basketball season 2013 has officially kicked off!

ben made the 5A team again this year
and he is LOVING being back on the court again

this weekend we started our tournament calendar off
in coon rapids

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

although we didn't place in the tournament

we lost our first game to irondale

beat st paul in our second game

and lost a very close 3rd game to anoka

our boys played hard
and did very well
considering many of their opponents had just a TAD bit
of height advantage over them ... 

great job, 5A!!

this trimester drew has industrial technology as a class

he is loving the things that they are learning
and he is loving the things they are making even more

this pop can lamp is his latest creation



he found the perfect spot for it in his room
and the best part
it really works!!

he's already smarter than me

earlier today i got an email from drew's algebra teacher

Stacey and Sarah, 

I just wanted to pass this on from something great Drew was doing in class today.  I gave kids the option to try some computer programming related to the math that we have been doing in class the last couple days.  I wrote this post up on Drew's explanation of his thinking through the problem as he is showing some pretty cool thought process in what he is saying.  By the end of class he and his partner did have a working equation programmed in.
