is now officially registered for his drivers test

AND

the ACT

how is this possible?

double championship weekend

ben's team had a whirlwhind weekend

early in the week we were asked by the mounds view 8C team

if we would be able to fill their spot in the roseville tournament

because they were not able to play

although we had signed up to play in chisago lakes for a one day sunday tournament

we decided to go for it

it was our last weekend of tournaments before state

why not get in more practice

the only catch was we NEEDED to win both games on saturday

otherwise our games conflicted with chisago lakes on sunday

we played jefferson and st louis park

and won both games

even tho SLP had a kid who had a little advantage on our 'little team'

this put us in the championship at 3pm on sunday

BUT before we could play that

we had to play at 9, 11, and 1 in chisago lakes

we decided it would be fun to play for 2 championships in one weekend

and the boys found hard!

we got lucky with the other team not showing up for our first game,

then we beat white bear lake

and we beat forest lake

it was pool play

and we did all we needed to win the chisago lakes championship

BUT ... 

it wasn't over yet

we took the shirts/medals

stopped for a quick refuel

and headed down to roseville

to finish the weekend up

the boys played a very intense and aggressive rockford team

AND WON!

TWO tournaments

TWO championships

this weekend alex played in roseville

they lost the first game

to an A team that should've never been in our bracket

we played a close second game

and almost beat another A team from Rochester.

we were expecting to get blown out of the water by them

but ended up coming back for a great 2nd half

to end the game losing by one point

our final game

we got a win against mounds view 

these boys have had a great season.

knowing that state is only 2 weeks away

seems crazy!

BUT ...

they've learned SO much

and they are SO ready!

the blaine girls hockey team

made it to the state hockey final championship

drew wanted to go

so ben and i decided to go with him

unfortunately they didn't win

BUT ...

the game was still fun to be at

the chants between the schools are always my favorite part

with my top faves being

'we don't like you'

'still don't like you'

'daddy's money'

and the response to that 'and we love it'

sneaky snapchat fun

mc deal hound

this kid loves math

AND

today he and his friend used those math skills

along with some common sense

they walked to mcdonalds after school

they used the app to find some deals

after realizing that a chocolate chip cookie

would meet the requirement for a purchase

they bought 3 chocolate chip cookies for $1.26

but then got all of this free ...

2 breakfast sandwiches (thank you gophers)

2 large sodas

and

1 shamrock shake

he was SO proud

and so am i ;)

i love when my mailbox reminds me

that fun is just around the corner ...

my very own chauffeur

with drew's driving test right around the corner

we are trying to get in as many driving hours as we can.

that means every target run and trip to pick up alex or ben

i have my very own chauffeur

and when we wake up

and there's thick fog ...

we're out driving around to get practice

one month of practice left ...

yikes!

they never last very long

happy valentines day * 2017

water day * take two

for the 2nd time this month

we were home on a sunday

when the water pressure began to drop

this time we were quick to fill some water bottles

just in case ;)

this time we never actually lost water

BUT

we did lose pressure

which was enough to put us under another water boil advisory

which also meant another day off of school

50 degrees ... no school ...

even without water ...

i'll take it.

ben went mini golfing

alex played with the neighbors

and

drew and i worked on his driving

by finding a starbucks that was open ;)

people are all over facebook complaining about the water

but ...

i'm kinda liking this ;)

almost hawaii ...

we have had temps in the 40s this weekend 

and it has been FABULOUS

we took in every minute that we could of being outside

and as we got texts from my dad in hawaii

and wished we were there

we pretended ...

anoka tournament * alex

alex's team also played in the anoka tournament

they only had one game on friday night

they lost to a tough rockford team

alex got fouled twice and ended up on the line

the boys next game was against anoka

it was a super close game

and unfortunately anoka won :/

our final game of the weekend was another close one

we played princeton

and they beat us at the very end

tough weekend for alex's team -

but now they have a weekend off before heading into the roseville tournament
