worth every penny

i started back for a few hours at work today ...

but the best part was that i had a helper

i paid him with starbucks ...

the art teacher that he helped paid him with coke ...

i have a feeling that come tomorrow

i am going to have 2 more helpers when they hear about the pay scale.

friday night lights

tonight was the first varsity football game for this year

it was also drew's first game in the official student section

hawaiian night theme

it got a little chilly

but it was fun to be getting back into the fun that the school year brings

we ended the night with a big win over coon rapids

every day this summer

drew had to be at the high school at 7 am for football weight training

all of august he has practice multiple hours a day

all of that work has paid off

SO FAR ...

they lost to wayzata

but have wins over coon rapids and centennial

still trying to believe

i have a high school football player.

YIKES!

while i'm busy trying to figure out how i have a high schooler

i am also trying to figure out how my baby is old enough to be a safety patrol!

he had training today

to get ready for the new year

SO exciting!!

we've spent the past 2 thursday nights

on the 50 yard line

at the high school

praying for the football teams

their safety

the players

and their families

i SO love that the boys have this opportunity

and pray that the group continues to grow

today was the perfect day for a bike ride

drew, oliver, alex and i

took a bike ride

and all fun bike rides

have a fun destination

SO ... we stopped for a little lunch

and then headed back home.

8 miles.

20 chicken nuggets.

2 large fries.

1 mcdouble.

4 happy people not wanting summer to end.

although it is sure beautiful ...

i'm beginning to think our hydrangea TREE is a little confused

as to whether it is a tree or a bush ;)

tonight we had to go for parent/player pictures at the high school

when exactly did my 'little' guy get so big?!

not sure i'm ready for this freshman year stuff!

the little things

it's funny how something so simple

as walking into an empty chipotle at dinner time

can make you feel like you just won the lottery

OR like you SHOULD go play the lottery :)

this morning ben made us donuts

using a recipe we found on pinterest

they were SO good!

bbq blitz

tonight was blitz night for the football players -

they had practice all day

and then had some dixie blue BBQ

before heading out to sell their gold cards ...

each kid had 2 pulled pork sandwiches

a hot dog

beans

a bag of chips

a cookie

and

2 waters

i walked away thankful that 

A.  i only have one football player at my house

AND 

B.  that i wasn't the one making all that food

than hanging out at target ...
