movin' on up!

this week we had 2 open houses

FIRST ...

we got to go to the middle school

MIDDLE SCHOOL

YIKES!

drew is not concerned in the least.

he got his locker open.

he got his schedule.

as far as we know he has good teachers and the right classes ;)

he is just excited to be with his friends

and

i guess we'll just hope everything falls into place ;)

and the 'little guys' ...

they're just as excited!

alex has mrs. slavik this year -

which we are both excited about :)

he loves that he is officially now a FIRST GRADER

AND

he that he knows a few kids in his class

ben has the same teachers that drew had for 4th grade

mr. grosbier is his main teacher

but he will have mrs. robertson for a few hours each day 

because of school changes this is actually the first time EVER

that we have been able to have a teacher twice

SO i am just as excited as ben ;)

i know what to expect

i know how much i like them

AND

i know that he will do great!

i have no doubt that all 3 boys will have a GREAT year!

of course i still wish it was summer

and i wish we could spend the days just hanging out and having fun together

BUT

i also love watching them learn ...

and there is NO part of me that was made for homeschooling

SO

i will help where i can

and

enjoy the times i can't ;)

the great get together

the week of fun continues ...

today at the state fair!!

we basically ate our way from one way to the other

stopped to see some storm chaser vehicles

and some bmx/skateboarding fun

we had our traditional

bucket of cookies

WITH 

all you can drink milk for $1

of course ;)

we visited the miracle of birth barn

where we saw a pig in labor -

13 piglets in 2 hours!!

and all i can say is -

as i watched them fighting for her nipples

i was very thankful i had one at a time ;)

the boys did the giant slide

and drew and ben got separated from alex at the top -

leaving him very sad

and requiring a very nice worker to ride down with him :/

 

we spent way too much $ to ride 

the same water ride

they have at valleyfair

we bumped into neighbors and the boys did a newscast

the boys helped on the farm 

and we ended the afternoon with the doggies of the wild west show

we were full ...

tired ...

and ready for a little break

so we headed home

BUT ...

our break didn't last long

because stacey and i had tickets for the night's concert!!

it was a beautiful night for an outside concert!!

we saw eden's edge

eli young band

little big town

who i like SO much more after seeing them in concert!

and the best part of the night ...

RASCAL FLATTS!!

i wish they could have played longer

but

am SO glad we got to hear what we did!

what a crazy fun group of bands -

all together in ONE concert!!

what a great day!!

hittin the beach

today we continued our last week of fun

by spending the day at bunker beach

we had ellie ...

because ben is officially back to school

BUT

she did great!

we had 19 boys

2 girls

and a BEAUTIFUL day ;)

i'm loving being out and about

enjoying every last minute of summer

BUT

my house ...

and my blog ...

are showing it ;)

so whether you're visiting on here

or stopping by my house

i'll just apologize now ;)

counting it down

knowing that we only have this week left

we have a week of fun planned.

we started it out by meeting up with friends

to spend another fun day at valleyfair.

the 'big boys' rode the 'little kid' rides with alex today

and i think they had more fun than they expected ;)

THEN ...

i agreed to do something i don't normally do.

typically i stick with ben and alex

who don't like the big rides

BUT ...

today i agreed to go on wild thing with drew

all i'll say is ...

20 years can change a girl ;)

i used to LOVE the big roller coasters at great america

NOW ...

i'm thinking i'll stick with alex ...

i didn't get sick

and really ...

if he needed a friend i would suck it up and go

but fun ... enjoyable ... loved it ...

not really any of the thoughts that came to my mind ;)

we finished up the day with some soak city fun

alex STILL is JUST below the 48"

but he LOVED that the life jacket gave him the ability to ride the lazy river

alone with adi

it's sad to think it might have been our last day at valleyfair for the season :/

but glad it was a beautiful one

so we could really enjoy it!

DOWN ... SET ...

we left wausau

right away sunday morning

so that we could make the boys

afternoon scrimmages

the teams had an hour and a half

to work on their plays

and get a taste

of what this season is going to look like.

ben is playing quarterback again this year

alex is playing flag football for the first time this year

but thankfully he wasn't part of the scrimmage today ;)

he spent the day hanging out with jack - 

who is his teammate, friend, and also the little brother to ben's friend/teammate

which means alex has a built in playmate during games

WOOO!

and drew is once again holding his spot on the offensive line

i wasn't sure i was ready for football

mostly because i know that means cold weather is coming

but watching the scrimmage today made me VERY excited

it should be a great season for all 3 boys ...

and as of RIGHT NOW ...

i am really looking forward to it!
