while ben was in andover

alex was in princeton

i missed his first game

which they won

because of ben's championship game

but was able to catch the last 2

they lost their 2nd game by 1 point

and they lost their final game

to what i'm guessing was chisago lakes A team 

still enough for 3rd place

a good weekend for both boys ...

a reason to celebrate

what better way to celebrate 2 back to back wins

than pizza ranch on a saturday afternoon

this weekend ben played in the andover tournament

we started the weekend against anoka

they have one REALLY big guy

but we figured out a way around him

and came out with a win

we played andover for the next game - 

although they beat us earlier in the season we knew we had a chance

our boys played well

got a few 3 pointers

this is ben celebrating one

we came out with another win

and made it to the championship game

for the first time this year!

that put us up against a very tough tartan team

we weren't able to beat them

but 2nd place is the best we've done this year

way to go, 7B!

for the past few weeks

we have had this puzzle out on our table

and i am SO happy to say

it is FINALLY complete!

go gophers

because going to 6 of our own games this weekend

wasn't enough ...

ben and i went to the gopher game on saturday night

we had a fun night

we watched some illinois fans sneak into the gophers student section

by wearing gophers gear until the first illini points were scored - 

at which point they stripped those clothes off to reveal their true identity

it didn't last long before they were sent

to cheer with the rest of the illinois student section

unfortunately

JUST LIKE LAST YEAR

we picked a game that went into overtime

and we ended up losing 

BUT ...

i had a fun date

with my favorite 7th grader

much thanks to ben's coach from last year

AND the person doing the scheduling for this weekend's tournament -

because you scheduled their kids' games on saturday night

we got to use their tickets ;)

this weekend

both boys played in the irondale tournament

unfortunately,

7B's good luck from rockford came to a screeching halt

they lost to a forest lake A team

but came back and beat brainerd

the team we lost to in rockford

we've played them 3 times now this year

and are 2-1 against them.

we may have lost the next game

but winning against brainerd made it a good day

alex's team

started the weekend off with a loss on saturday night

and a win on saturday morning

they finished the weekend up with a win against eagan

yes they are yelling 'he's tying his shoes, alex ... RUN!'

it is officially here

drew's last year that he is required to do a STEM fair project

thankfully ...

this was our best year yet.

his teacher did a great job of setting deadlines along the way

and although we waited TWENT FIVE days for a clear night

we FINALLY got one.

his project was on light pollution

and today was his day to present
