after 5 weeks at trout lake

and 1 week in colorado for young life camp

this guy is finally home

and i'm just a little excited

all good things must come to an end

according to alex

he had a great week at trout

his counselors were 'the best'

and everything was so fun

he couldn't come up with what his favorite thing was when i asked

a night out with ben

tomorrow is the day that we go pick up alex

and drew comes home

before going back to a family of 5

we thought we would treat ben to one last night of being an only child

we had dinner at tavern

and then played some mini golf at como

ben may have put his ball into the water on one hole

but he beat me by a million

AND he won a free game on the 18th hole!

before leaving, we decided to walk over by the zoo

as we turned the corner we saw a TON of people

and realized they were all playing pokemon go

como has been a hot spot

for certain good pokemon go characters

and tonight it was a hot spot for electrobuzz

ben and i each caught 9 electrobuzz!

i have a feeling drew and alex are going to be requesting a trip to como

very soon

after some thinking

i am going to make my blog private.

this is assuming anyone still reads it ;)

the main reason i've kept this blog up is for my own memory -
and to turn each year into a book to look back on.

i am HAPPY to give you permission
so you can continue to follow our craziness ;)

i just want a little bit of control over who can read what i write.

i am going to wait about a week or so.

rollerblading rockstars

every day this week

ben and i have gone rollerblading

it has been a great way to get out and start doing something

without rushing into full out exercise that gets my heart racing

thanks for all the fun rollerblading trips, ben!

with alex and drew gone

this is our week with ben

after hearing about alex's excitement at the MOA

ben wanted in on the action

so we spent our monday at the MOA catching pokemon

it's safe to say i wore him out

for dinner

we went to acapulco for taco night

it ended up being a pokestop

so being the dorks that we are

we caught pokemon throughout our dinner ;)

we are getting good at this ...

so good that we decided to take the gym at our park 

yup .... we rock ;)

camper alex

today was drop off alex day

he is going to trout with his friend oliver

but oliver had soccer tryouts so was late getting to camp

alex is lynx

his counselor is joel and his LIT is simon

their cabin is in a perfect spot

right up the hill from the water

we got some ice cream

and walked around camp

before saying good bye

now begins the fun of watching alex's account to see what fun things he buys

my bets are placed

and i'm guaranteed a win with my guess of 'a stuffed animal'

crooked creek send off

when we picked up ben

we also picked up drew

unfortunately

by the time we got home we had 3 hours to quick do his laundry

and get him packed back up for young life camp in colorado

it was quite a whirlwind but we did it!!

it was hard to say goodbye AGAIN

after such a short tease of a time with him

BUT

this is it

after this week EVERYONE is home!!

the young life crew took a coach bus

and drove thru the night to crooked creek camp

drew sent these pictures that he took on a few of their stops

but now they are at camp

and i won't hear from him again until friday

today is pick up ben day!!!

he had a great week at camp

of course

the excitement of the week came early thursday morning

we were hit with a storm -

but it hit TLC really hard

drew texted me and told me about it

but i didn't realize how bad it was until we saw it

trout figures they lost about 150 trees

one of those trees

a norway pine

hit ben's 'norway pine' cabin

it hit the corner that ben was sleeping in

he woke up -

but the kid that was on the top bunk on top of him slept right thru it!

thankfully he was safe

as was everyone else at camp

as we were walking around, before leaving,

i loved that this sign was hanging on one of the trees that had fallen
