o christmas tree * 2017

in keeping with tradition ...

we ventured far for our fresh cut tree

costco ;)

every year it's kind of fun to see what we're going to get

this year i was a little nervous because the tree is a bit small

BUT ...

now i love it

it fills the perfect space in our front room

i LOVE having everything decorated

i LOVE the lights

and i LOVE the peaceful feeling of just having the tree up and decorated

(now that i've checked it for no spiders :) ...

 i will admit that i did think about switching to a fake tree

after hearing a horror story from a friend ...

but i'm glad we didn't switch)

deck the halls

thanksgiving has passed

and i am slowly getting all areas of my world decorated

the tree at home has lights ...

but no ornaments ...

YET

the tree at school is up and decorated ...

complete with the STARbucks on the top

which the kids all love

AND ...

my favorite tree...

my LED tree in my car :)

turkey trot * 2017

thanksgiving morning we woke up early

to go cheer on bekah, ryan and grandpa jim

in the turkey trot 5k

ben wished he was running ...

who knew that the wausau thankgiving 5k filled to capacity ...

oops!

it ended up being a fairly nice morning ...

not too cold ...

sun shining ...

and they had the best cheering squad out there!

nice job, guys!

this weekend ben and drew

went to trout with the eaglebrook senior highers

a quiet weekend with one kid ...

yikes!

we won't know what to do with ourselves!
