celebrating the end!

the last friday before school gets out

jefferson throws a party for the 5th graders

this year was no exception

we spent a few months planning it

and

the kids were SO excited when the night finally came

we stocked up on lots of goodies

we had a wacky hair station ...

 

we had some carnival games ...
one being a pool of ice water AND marbles

with the goal being who could get the most marbles out with their toes

drew didn't win ...

leading me to believe he didn't inherit his toes from my side of the family ;)

we had a DJ ...

which led to a lot of dancing

and a lot of crazy fun!

even the teachers came to celebrate what a fun year it has been!

we sent each of the kids home with a goody bag
including their own personalized bengal towel!

i'm still not ready to accept that drew is done with 5th grade
BUT
he had fun celebrating ...



and i'm glad that i got to be there to help ;)

tonight ben's team played a GREAT game

it's fun to see them hitting well
AND
winning!!!



the REAL highlight of the game came when ben got the game ball

he's been consistent with his hitting
getting on base most of the times he is up to bat
and tonight was no exception

WAY TO GO, BEN!

and then there were 5

for the first time EVER ...
this weekend we had all FIVE cousins together!



FIVE BOYS!!!!

bekah and ryan came up from chicago
and
we made the trek from the cities

 it was the perfect long weekend!

the weather was beautiful

we got to enjoy the memorial day parade

 

 

 

 

and ALL it's goodness ;)

ben was excited because he got to work with ryan on his pitching

we got to celebrate hannah graduating
she's a NURSE ...
ALL DONE WITH SCHOOL ...
and we are SO proud of her!
 ;)



and we got to enjoy spending time with owen

  

 

 

although i'm sure owen was more than happy
to get back to his quiet little house in chicago
after spending a weekend with 4 crazy and loud boys ;)
thanks for the fun weekend, guys!

the works

this week i got to go with the 3rd graders to the works museum



we spent time in the actual exhibits -
exploring the hands on learning fun

 

 

 

 

and spent time in a classroom
learning about sound
and building an air harp

 

 

 

 

just what we've always needed ...
but much cheaper than the real thing ...
so i'm going with it ;)
