the ceremony took place at the top of the granite peak ski hill
we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day

it's taking me a bit to get into the swing of things
with the boys being back in school!

now that hannah has officially been married for one week and 3 days

i figured it was probably time that my blog caught up.

i will break it up into chunks

and will let the pictures do most of the talking!

first day fun

it is officially here.

the first day of the 2012 -2013 school year!!

i now have a 4th grader, a 1st grader, and a 6th grader!!

that's right ...

middle school, folks!

he was not the least bit nervous

in fact ...

i would probably have felt better if he WOULD have been JUST A LITTLE nervous ;)

BUT ...

he was excited to see friends

and

very confident that he had it figured out and would love it

he met up with ryan and jack

our neighbors who are also going into 6th grade

at the bus stop

and also their good friend (another neighbor) brandon

who is going into 8th grade

and has done a great job of making them feel confident throughout the summer

thank you, brandon!

we talked for a bit

and then just like that ...

they were off.

i would've thought i would feel nervous, sad, melancholy ...

but i felt none of the above.

drew was so excited and so confident that i truly felt the same

i sent him on his way knowing he was SO ready!

THEN ...

it was alex and ben's turn!

 

* yes ... i know ... we forgot to get a picture of us with drew ...

 that's on the agenda for day 2

we had made a special 'breakfast burrito back to school breakfast'

before sending drew off

so

ben and alex were all ready to go before drew's bus even got here ;)

that meant we had a good hour before their bus came

it was perfect!

we went out to the bus stop a little early

and jen had even brought ellie out to see them off!

we took a few pictures

and sent them on their way

my FOURTH grader

who was insistent on wearing a packers shirt

for his bears loving teacher ;)

 

and my FIRST grader

who will now be at school EVERY day ALL day!!

 

when did he get so big?!?!

he now gets his own locker ...

and he gets his own desk ...

this is the big leagues, people!!

BUT

like drew,

he is SO ready for it!

so i didn't shed a single tear.

of course i wish they were going to be home with me tomorrow

and i wish that summer lasted 365 days a year

BUT

they were all SO excited this morning

and are SO excited for the rest of this year

and i love that.

update

my sister's wedding was last weekend.

it was FABULOUS.

i took over 700 pictures

(well WE took over 700 pictures)

AND

this is our last week before school starts

so we are trying to fit in as much fun as we can

on top of ...

2 open houses

6 football practices

2 days with ellie

and

a VERY messy house ;)

BUT

come next week i won't know what to do with myself

so i'm enjoying the craziness while i can.

just know that ...
