snow fun

THIS ...



is what getting 15 inches in 24 hours looks like.

stacey spent LOTS of time snowblowing and shoveling

and the boys spent LOTS of time playing.

they worked on grooming the sledding hill

 

they tested their biking skills
REALLY?!?!?!

and spent basically the entire day outside

 

 

 

 

 

for now ...

i'm not minding the snow.

the boys are having fun

and playing outside

it's beautiful to look at

and

with Christmas just a few weeks away -

it feels right.

i don't

however

expect to feel this way for long

although we were delayed
by elfred's decorating attempt
we FINALLY got our tree decorated

 

 

 

 

and of course ...
it looks fabulous!

 

how could it not
with the decorating help i had

captain for a day

on saturday night
ben's basketball team got the opportunity
to act as the honorary captains for the bengals varsity game



they got to retrieve balls during warm ups

they got to join the team for the national anthem
and yes ...
that is alex standing in the middle of the court.

not sure if he was making his way over to drew and his friends

or just needing a little extra attention -
but at least he looked up at the flag ;)

following the national anthem
our boys got introduced
and were given the opportunity to run through the tunnel
of BHS players

complete with a chest bump at the end

they loved it!

they got to do the pregame 'chant'

and they got to deliver water to the players throughout the game

unfortunately we didn't share enough of our winning mojo
and the bengals lost by 3

but the boys still had a blast!

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ... kind of

although it's 50 degrees out
there's no snow
and
it feels NOTHING like december ...
Christmas is in fact still coming

SO ...
we took advantage of the incredible temperatures
and went to get our tree

it didn't take us long to find it

 

 

 

and because stacey brings his reciprocating saw
it doesn't take us long to cut it either ;)

we took time for some cider while they loaded up our car

 

and we got home just in time to head back out to ben's tournament

a busy weekend
BUT
our house smells incredible
and if i don't look outside
it ALMOST feels like Christmas

this weekend ben played in another tournament
this time we were in elk river

we played 3 games total

the first we played a lakeville south team
and won 31-14

 

the second team we played was from elk river
and we won 32-8

 

which put us in the championship
where we played another lakeville team

the game started out very close.
we were tied going into half
BUT
we pulled away in the second half
and won 24-15
