goofy candy company

keeping on track
with all of the amazingly fabulous treats at disney
i couldn't not mention goofy's candy company in downtown disney

just walking by the place makes my heart race
and my weight go up

they sell SO many fun treats
not necessarily cheap
but keep in mind
that many of them can be bought with the dining plan!

the caramel apples are HUGE
and there are a ton of varieties

 AND
if they don't have the variety that you want
never you fear
there is a create-your-own bar

first you choose your treat
then you choose your toppings
and they make it for you while you watch

because we ended up having a lot of extra snacks
from being on the dining plan
we took the boys to goofy candy company on our last day
and gave them the freedom to pick 2 things
WHATEVER they wanted
that was covered by the dining plan of course

each of them decided to use one of their 'credits'
for a create your own mickey krispy treat

they filled out their sheets

turned them in
and watched the ladies do their magic

alex opted for it to be dipped in milk chocolate
rolled in reeses pieces
and drizzled with milk chocolate

ben opted for a milk chocolate dipped
butterfinger coated
milk chocolate drizzled bar

and drew chose a milk chocolate base
with an oreo coating
and milk chocolate drizzle

THEN ...
for their second treats
ben decided to get some pucker powder

alex got chocolate and M&M dipped marshmallows
did you notice the hidden mickey on his straw?!

AND
drew and i both picked the best treat in the place
a mickey cake pop

YUM ...
i could go for another of those right now!

all of the treats that we got were delicious
but what i loved the most
was sending the boys in
and giving them free reign
to choose whatever they'd like.
i typically would NEVER send them in to a store like this and say
'each of you ... go buy a $5 treat ... or TWO!'
yet another reason why i love the dining plan
AND
goofy's candy company

the many hats we wear

while at disney
we spend a lot of time looking in fun shops
and walking by venders

one of our favorite things to do is to try on the different hats
and have a little fun
usually taking pictures along the wayi thought it would be fun to take a look back
at the many hats we wore

for the record
we didn't have lice before
and as far as i know ...
we didn't catch it either ;)

chef mickey

one of our all time favorite places to eat
is at chef mickey's

it is a buffet style breakfast or dinner
we prefer the dinner

and it is a GREAT place to meet the fab five characters -
mickey, minnie, pluto, goofy, and donald

of course the boys have grown JUST a tad
since we first started going there ...

BUT
alex was still into getting autographs this year
so it was perfect for him

AND ...
it's still fun to grab a few pictures with the characters

thanks for a fun dinner,
chef mickey!

splash

the first few days we were at disney
weren't exactly the warmest
BUT
it was perfect weather to hit the parks hard
and throw in a little bit of swimming mid afternoon
THANKFULLY as the week went on
the temperature went up
and by the end of the week
we were spending a few hours each afternoon swimming

while staying at port orleans you have the freedom to use
the pool at port orleans french quarter AND the pool at port orleans riverside

we checked out port orleans french quarter one afternoon

BUT
the majority of our time was spent at ol' man island
which is riverside's pool

each day they had a pool party
which was led by a few disney cast members
they had cannonball contests

limbo contests

a giant beach ball

dance parties

and water balloon games

one afternoon ben and alex won BOTH of the water balloon games
of the day

 the fun lasted all afternoon
and when the organized activities ended
drew took it upon himself to keep the fun going.
he started a conga line
and all of the kids joined right in

as i mentioned in a previous post
we weren't sure how the port orleans pool would compare to the beach club
but with the ages of our kids
and the programs they had going
i couldn't have asked for more!
they LOVED it

they even asked to go night swimming
so one night we came back from the parks early
and enjoyed the pool under the stars

it was beautiful
and i am sitting here now thinking how wonderful laying in the sun sounds ...
unfortunately
the ultimate april fools joke is on us today
and it's not even 30 degrees here
WHERE ARE YOU SPRING?!
