thanksgiving recap

although the babies were the hit of thanksgiving
the boys still kept very busy doing their own thing

they played outside

 

  

  

and even got owen to go out with them!

 

 

  

chewy spent time reflecting on how thankful he is that he is a dog



and as always
we spent our thanksgiving night at the bowling alley

stacey looked good

and MAY have beat me in game #1

but i watched how alex did it ... 

gained some focus 

and pretty much dominated game #2

i will probably never again see a 163 without bumpers
BUT
it was fun while it lasted!!

even the boys did well!

way to go, boys!

a few LITTLE things to be thankful for

with Christmas only a week away
it would probably be a good time to get caught up on thanksgiving ;)

this thanksgiving was extra fun for me
because i got to meet my new niece AND my new nephew



joe was 5 weeks old
and
ellie was 1 week old 

 

 

  

and i wasn't the only one that spent a great deal of time holding them

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

it was the perfect scenario ...
we held them A LOT,
gave them back when they were hungry,
held them some more
and then sent them with their moms
to learn how to sleep through the night ;)

elk river tournament 2013

this weekend we had our 2nd tournament of the season
in elk river



it was nice to have one tournament done
and to be able to build off of that

the boys played well

 

and ended up placing 3rd overall

and way to go 5A bengals!!

the danger committee

we finished out drew's 'man week'
with a night out on the town



we went with 4 other families
and it just so happens that together we have
12 boys and 1 girl

we started our night at rock bottom brewery
and ended up at the brave new workshop

 

we saw a show by 'the danger committee'

they've been on america's got talent
and perform at the renaissance festival
in addition to doing small shows like the one we went to

they juggled everything from knives to tasers

they turned a nerf gun into a dart gun

and
they did knife throwing acts
that made me QUITE nervous
but were VERY impressive!

it was the PERFECT show for a bunch of boys!

AND ...
the first place we found him was snuggled up next to dave (the minion)



who knew that the shorts drew made in FACS class would be so useful

who would've thought that i had to leave the big city
and drive to the middle of wisconsin
to find a starbucks test market
where they serve a drink that i can't even get in minnesota?!

well ...
wausau IS a starbucks test market
and they DO have a drink minnesota does not have

the chestnut praline latte



i made sure to get a few while we were there

and i am anxious to go back for christmas and get a few more

it doesn't replace my favorite drink
BUT
i did enjoy it
and i think it would make a great addition to their holiday menu.

it has to be better than the egg nog latte ...
yuck.
