my kid - THE REF!

this fall brings a new adventure for drew

he is old enough to be a ref

for flag football!

it's a really good gig for him!

he gets to do a few games a week

and makes 17.50 for each game!

i'm glad flag is pretty low key

and am hoping all of the parents behave themselves

crazy parents seem much more crazy

when your kid is the ref

 

alex in a nutshell

alex was asked to write a letter to his teacher

telling her about himself ...

back at it

the time is here!!!

the 2014-2015 school year is officially beginning!!

i have an 8th grader

a 6th grader

and

a 3rd grader!!

drew and ben are now both at the middle school

so i have TWO leaving by 7:40 each morning ...

YIKES!

it's a busy bus stop

alex leaves an hour later when he takes the bus

his teacher is mrs mcpherson this year

so thankful to have her again!

ben LOVED having her as a teacher

and i know alex will too!

an EXTRA fun part of this year 

is that today is MY first day too!

i am jefferson's newest secretary!

i'm doing attendance and will work 3 hours each morning ...

i am so excited to be working there

because so many of the staff have become my friends

over the past few years.

here's to a fun first day ...

a fun year!!

a flipping good story

while in wisconsin

ben was working on mastering his back flip

alex decided to work on his also

BUT

his knee got in the way

and he ended up with a good story to take to school with him

c.o.w.

it's always a good weekend

when the C.O.W. truck

decides to spend time in wausau

on the same days we do

a little more fun

well ...

we decided that we hadn't QUITE hit our fun quota

for summer 2014

we decided to throw in one last quick trip to wisconsin

for labor day

bekah, ryan, and the boys were there

so it was a fun way to catch up

the weather cooperated and the kids got lots of outside play time

even the 'big kids'

and we got lots of baby time :)

NOW he's ready

it's official.

ben has his schedule

and has mastered his locker

NOW

he is ready for middle school!

planes, trains, and goodbyes

we packed a lot into a few days

but

it was SO worth it

the boys got a lot of things

checked off their bucket lists

and

we got a quick getaway in before school starts

on wednesday we said our goodbyes

checked out of our hotel

hopped on the train

alex didn't last long

made our way to the airport

and were headed home

to get ready for a new year of school!!
