back to school * 2015

3 boys.

3 schools.

9th grade ...

leaves at 7:15 am

7th grade ...

leaves at 7:45 am

4th grade ...

leaves at 8:15 am

so that we have time for starbucks of course

happy 2015-2016 school year, everyone!

a whole lot to celebrate

this year my birthday and labor day and the last day of summer

all fell on the same day

so that meant everybody was home

to help me celebrate

they brought me a pumpkin muffin to start my morning

got me my other favorite start to a morning ... free.

and then we spent the day together - 

ending with a fabulous night before school dinner

AND

a mexican coke toast

OLE!

the force

the force is strong in this one

extending summer

this weekend the weather has been BEAUTIFUL

we got an invitation to go to a shrimp boil

and although the shrimp didn't sound that good to me

sitting outside enjoying the weather with friends sounded very fun

the boys got some swimming in

drew won the breath holding contest

with alex overseeing to make sure no one cheated

and the boys experienced their first

shrimp and sausage boil

a super fun way to spend our last saturday

before school

friday night lights x 2

another friday night

another football game

this time at home

with a pre-game chili's tailgate

blaine pulled out the win

and drew joined the rest of the students in storming the field

nice work, bengals!

open house #3

tonight was ben's turn

ben was excited to visit his classes

and drew was excited to go back and socialize.

ben is super excited to be a 7th grader.

he knows where he's going

is excited about his schedule

and 

has friends in every class

he has a few of the same teachers that drew had

which he is very excited about

as we walked thru the school

every one seemed to remember drew and ben

and was happy to see them.

even the custodian popped his head into a classroom

when he saw drew to say 

'go packers!'

clearly ...

drew left a positive impression on the rms staff

and it was very fun to see!

today we had a special little visitor

our friend gave drew a ride to football

while we fed her little guy

what a fun role reversal!

open house #2

our 2nd stop of the night was at blaine high school

we walked around to help drew find his classes

and the highlight was that he didn't get a skinny locker

i have a high schooler

he's very ready

so i suppose i can be too

tonight was open house for alex 

he is in mr. grosbier's class this year

and we're very excited!

led us to the gas station for some treats

our summer days are dwindling

and we are trying to take advantage of every last second
