vikings day alternative

with the playoffs this weekend

the staff at school decided friday should be vikings day

and that everyone should wear their vikings colors

WELL ...

why would i do that?!

i wore a packers jersey

and to make sure i had all my bases covered

in case anyone (vikings fans) gave me a hard time about that jersey

i offered them another option

go packers

and

go seahawks ... this weekend anyway ;)

traveling band

yesterday i had a handsome visitor at jefferson

because he is in jazz band

he got to spend the day going to the elementary schools

to convince the 5th graders that they should do band

next year at roosevelt

you guys did a great job, ben

the little things

oftentimes when i go to pick up alex at school,

drew or ben want to ride along with me

i love having the company

BUT

i love even more when i get to school the next day 

and find little notes like these ...

you are the best, ben

every time i sit down at my computer

your  notes bring a smile to my face

a new smile

today was a big day for drew

6 years ago he started his path to straight teeth

and a normal bite

and now ...

after 2 rounds of braces

and a few years of retainers in between

he has FINALLY reached the end!

it's been a great process

and we've been really happy with our orthodontist

it's fun to see where he started

and where he is now

 

along the way i took pictures

before and after each appointment

when he was either getting braces on or off

because i thought it would be fun to see the transformation

and i'm so glad i did

after getting home from wisconsin

and having a week of christmas 'stuff'

i wanted to try to pick things up around the house a little

while we had the chance

i asked the boys for their help

when i came down to find this hanging on the microwave

i couldn't help but smile

and NOW ...

my little list maker

he had gone and cleaned each of their rooms

he had started the bathrooms

and

he had made a list for them to follow

i LOVE him.
