celebrating joe

last year
as we were driving home from chicago
after stacey ran the marathon
we got the call that bekah had gone into labor
and joe was about to be born

fast forward one year
stacey decided to run chicago again
which worked out perfectly
because then we were in town
to celebrate joe turning ONE!!

bekah put together a super cute pumpkin party
and we had a lot of fun spending together
and celebrating joe

happy birthday joe!!

pre-marathon fun

we got to chicago on friday
and then woke up right away saturday
to go to the marathon expo so that stacey could get his bib

it was a busy place
but they were very efficient
so it was fun to wander around
and look at all of the booths

nike had quite the set up
with a lot of fun pictures opportunities

BUT ...
the best opportunity came when we happened to see doctor dribble

we saw him for the first time last year running chicago
and have followed him on instagram ever since
we think what he does is amazing
so when i saw him i made stacey get a picture

following the expo we stopped at the nike store
which was a zoo ...
complete with DJ and dancers!

we did a little shopping

and then went in search of marathon fuel ...
aka chipotle ;)

run twin cities run

stacey and i spent the morning
cheering on the runners at the twin cities marathon.

the winner was a debut marathoner -
he had never even run 26 miles before!
he ran sub 5 min miles for a good chunk of the last 5 miles -
which is uphill -
SHEESH!
i'm lucky if i can run that pace for a half mile!!

impressive.

playing the ponies ... again

for the past 3 weeks
drew has been played football in stillwater

the weather has been beautiful

and the boys have played well

drew has even gotten to play some defense
which has been a fun change

it's not exactly the most convenient location
BUT
if we have to drive somewhere -
at least it's stillwater -
we've been dropping him off for his early warmups
and then walking downtown -
walking to wisconsin ;) -
one of the days
stacey and ben got lunch at the freighthouse

and on our last sunday in stillwater
we topped it off
with malts for the ride home

when there's fun AND treats involved ...
i have no complaints
EVEN if it involves driving 30 miles.
