sweet saturday

this morning we met up with the lees at isle's

it's hard to beat a morning catching up with friends

AND

absolutely INCREDIBLE rolls that you can frost YOURSELF

i hate that we are so far apart

and don't get to see each other often

BUT

love that we can come back together

and it feels like we just saw them

como pool

we've been waiting for the weather to warm up a bit

and today seemed like a good day to try out como pool

the boys loved jumping off the cliffs

and the zipline

i even gave it a try

it wasn't too busy

and it was a great way to spend an afternoon ...

the only thing that would have made it better

was remembering to bring the bag with the towels and the sunscreen

oops!

as i was sitting and eating strawberries

drew:  i had fruit for breakfast this morning

me:  what fruit did you have?

another successful night to unite

so many neighbors ...

so many kids ...

so thankful for a park to meet at ;)

how can it be?!

in one day

i realized how old drew really is ...

FIRST ...

we went to pick up his HIGH SCHOOL schedule

and have his ID picture taken

THEN ...

he took all of his paychecks from umping

and opened a bank account

YIKES!

gold card

this is drew's first year playing football

AS A HIGH SCHOOLER!

that means a lot of practice

AND

selling gold cards.

fun.

he and jack spent the first night selling

and they were both pretty successful

it helps that there are great deals

and the card sells itself

nice work, drew!

3M PGA fun

each year the TPC a few miles away

hosts the senior PGA 3M championship

we've gone over a few times

but the past few years the boys have been at camp

so when we realized we were home for the main weekend this year

we decided it would be fun to go hang out for a while.

drew went with a friend for the day on friday

and we went as a family on sunday

the boys loved the expo tent

because of all of the goodies that they got

but it was also fun to walk around

watch a little golf

and follow the leading group for a few holes 

it was a fun way to spend a sunday

AND

we came home with a quite a bit of fun stuff

thanks to 3M

biking with a purpose

our latest biking adventure

took us to mcdonalds ...

blake came with us

since drew was busy at the golf tournament for the day

i figure if we're biking 8 miles

we deserve a treat

right?!

NINE years later

9 years ago ...

when we were back in our first neighborhood -
i was pregnant - along with 3 neighbors/friends -
we were all due within weeks of each other
and the babies ended up being born within a 3 week span of each other

2 years later  ...

all 4 of our families moved to our new neighborhood

the boys continued to be friends

they started school

and now after NINE years ...

here they are ...

still friends

AND

still growing up way too fast ...

slow down, boys!!

jumping into NINE

our july was pretty busy

SO

we decided to celebrate alex's birthday

once everything slowed down

he wanted to have a party at zero gravity

we got together a few of his friends

and spent the night celebrating our newest NINE year old

 

sierra had her grandma make alex a packers hat

he LOVED it!

it's fun to see our neighbor kids all growing up

but staying good friends

the 5 kids on the right of the pictures below

are all within 1 month of each other!

crazy bunch.
