final moments

our final day

it was clear it was time to leave

because the line for starbucks each morning was getting out of control ...

ben claimed his final reward coupon at the beachwalk

we made one last stop at honolua cookie company

took a walk back to whalers village

a very full

but perfect final day

slappy*cakes

each time i have researched maui

i have read about slappy cakes

BUT

we had never tried it

UNTIL NOW.

and i can honestly say

i wish we would have gone sooner!

it was SO fun!

our table had a griddle in the middle.

we chose 2 different flavored batters to try -

buttermilk and chocolate

and then we picked a few toppings that we knew we would like -

chocolate chips, strawberries, and whipped cream

the boys took turns creating their edible masterpieces

and i even took a little time to create my own ;)

it was a SUPER fun breakfast ...

and it actually tasted pretty good too ;)

before leaving for hawaii

i bought a crystal ball

not to predict the future - 

i knew what my future held ;)

i have a friend who has taken some fun pictures with one

and thought it would be fun to play with on our trip

although i didn't play nearly as much as i wanted

and i quickly discovered i could easily burn our fingers if i wasn't careful ...

we did get a couple fun shots

our row of fun

for the last few days

we claimed the same chairs by the pool

grandpa had chairs right next to us

which worked well for drew

this afternoon the 2 of them decided they needed a 'snack' - 

as in a large pizza hut pizza

 

WHICH made the rest of us hungry ..

pizza for lunch

a strawberry lemonade refresher to go with it

even the birds wanted in ... 

a perfect last lunch in paradise ;)

we topped off the afternoon

with tattoos all the way around
