this weekend we are in WI again
(aiden just turned 3 and of course we had to come help him celebrate!)
so ... this morning the boys were all outside playing.
all of the sudden i hear alex's scream of death.
now ... when alex and aiden are together,
screaming is unfortunately a very common sound -
but this was very different.
i ran to see what was up and he was standing on the deck -
still frantically screaming
and holding his leg.
i quickly grabbed him and brought him in,
completely unsure of what was going on.
i figured i'd start by looking at his leg and going from there.
well sure enough,
as soon as i moved his shorts -
out came a bee!
i instantly felt SO sad for him.
i knew he had gotten stung,
i knew he has never been stung before,
and i knew he was scared - out of his mind -
because he had no clue what was going on.
thankfully, he only got stung 2 times,
and thankfully stacey got to the bee before it was able to get alex or i again.
(he's so brave *wink*)
but that didn't make it any easier.
alex was SO worked up!!
we consoled him ...
we put ice on it ...
drew even tried to help cheer him up
(he was sure that if alex would JUST watch The BEE Movie he would see that not all bees are bad ... ha ha) :)
after about 30 minutes of me holding him i was FINALLY able to convince him that
a. he was going to be ok
and
b. it was ok for him to put underwear and shorts back on :)
poor kid was ready to spend the rest of his days pantsless
in the end, i told him that i was SURE that going and having hot chocolate with LOTS of whipped cream AND SPRINKLES would make EVERYTHING better ...
