earning his keep

for the past few weeks drew has been having a hard time going to sleep

he prefers to sleep with ben and alex
and would rather sleep on a sleeping bag on the floor with them
than in his very own comfortable queen bed

with school starting we began to feel like that wasn't the smartest option
he wasn't getting 'good sleep'
and although i didn't think he'd stay there through high school -
i thought maybe we should try to figure out a way to make him comfortable in his bed

SO ...
we talked about it.
he decided that he would really just like another human in his room
but
that having another brother is out of the question
because 'that would still take another 9 months' (he's so wise)SO ...
since we didn't have any other humans
we found the next best thing



chewy is now drew's 7 pound watchdog.

we set chewy up in drew's room
and he did his job perfectly!!
drew said that he woke up 2 times,
but that he fell right back to sleep because chewy was there
and he knew that chewy would bark if he heard anything.

way to go, chewy!
although sometimes i still wonder how i ever opened up to getting a dog ...
today you've earned your keep.
