the newest running back

although this picture may look like
just another football game
and
just another horrible cell phone picture
it is a picture that i had to take

 

you see ...
drew has always been a red-striper in football
that means that when you are over a certain weight you don't carry the ball
it's a way of keeping teams from just plowing through with their biggest kids
he has always been a lineman
until tonight.

once you hit 7th grade there are no weight restrictions.
there are no red stripers.
we had a fairly good lead over the team we were playing tonight
so our coaches were running some different plays
and having a little fun
all of the sudden i had people telling me to grab my camera
which i didn't have with me because it was a night game and it was raining
they had put drew in as running back
and were going to be handing off the ball TO HIM!!

SO ...
although you can't tell by looking at this picture
there is A LOT going on in this picture

drew was SO excited
he may have only moved the ball a yard
or a negative yard
but when the game ended
he and our center, who also got a chance at running back, couldn't stop talking
about how they were the 2 new best running backs E.V.E.R.
