when we left for hawaii
there was still snow on the ground in minnesota
ben had been playing lots of basketball with his team
but it had been a while since he had been able to get outside and just shoot hoops
one of the things he was most excited for
was the chance to get outside and play basketball
he was even more excited when he found out that a few times during the week
they had an organized 'basketball shootout or contest'
the first contest was a shooting contest
and although there were a few big kids
alex took SECOND place
and won a free pizza!!
the next contest was lightning
knowing that they had a few starbucks certificates to give away
i even got in on the action
but failed miserably ;)
alex brought his game
and got out a high school girl in the first round!
BUT ...
ben took the win
and won himself a pizza!
there were many games of basketball played
over the course of our week ...
BUT ...
i was out enjoying the sun
there wasn't a snowflake to be found
AND
the boys were doing what they love ...
so it was worth every minute
