havin a ball

drew and ben were out of school today ...

with the outside temperature a bit too cold for my warm blood ...
and a townhouse that was not meant for 3 boys under 7 ...

we headed off to an indoor play park.

we met up, and spent the afternoon with 2 of their friends
(the 3rd is a little girl who we don't know - she just refused to leave the picture ... HA!)



although they have a nice little kids area - alex wanted no part of it.
he wanted to play with the big kids!!!

what really surprised me was that
i fully expected his 2 crazy brothers throwing balls and bouncing in the ball pit the ball pit to overwhelm him

but instead - it's where he spent about 95% of his day!

rhyming friends

this is ben ...
and his new friend wren.



ben and wren are friends.

AND ...

BEN and WREN rhyme.

both ben and wren will tell you shortly after you begin to spend time with them ...

"we are friends...
AND ...
did you know that BEN and WREN rhyme???!!!"

wren is the friend from school that ben has talked about most since he started kindergarten.

i got the chance to meet wren when i went on a field trip with ben's class.

while on the field trip the boys insisted that i take their picture together throughout the farm.

after a while another little friend of theirs caught on to what they were doing and insisted on joining in ...

i let him join in on the pictures ...
and...
ben and wren allowed him to as well ...
even though jayden is his name ...
and JAYDEN does not rhyme with WREN and BEN!!!

ben ... wren ... you guys would make dr. seuss proud.

chocolate beans?

based on the way he devours them ...

and licks his fingers clean after eating them ...

i have come to the conclusion that alex thinks black beans are made of chocolate.

all good things ...

... must come to an end.




and so it goes with football.

darn.

whoever smelt it ...

we were on our way to WI this weekend ...

at one point in the trip
there was a very distinct "farm" smell that filled the car

alex must truly believe the old "whoever smelt it dealt it" rhyme
because out of nowhere

"hmm .... (sniff, sniff) ... OH ... i farted!!"

ha ha ...
crazy alex.

at least i know that as long as i have you with me i always have someone who will willingly take the blame

YEAH PACKERS!!!

the weather was GREAT ...

the game was EXCITING ...

and our 2 littlest fans had a TON OF FUN ...

AND WE WON!!!!

it was a perfect day!!

apples ... pumpkins ... and APPLE DONUTS!!

with the middle of october hitting - (YIKES) -
we decided that we needed to get to the pumpkin patch.
so yesterday, with some good friends in tow, we were off.

we ate some apples ...
went in the corn maze ...
played in the pumpkins ...
did LOTS of running ...
and ended with some sweet treats!

star of the week

this week ben was the star of the week for his kindergarten class.

we had to create this man and use items that would help tell the class more about who ben is.

drew: it's horrible. i'm girl trapped.
