minus 7 in minneapolis
and we are MORE than ready to begin our hawaii 2015 adventure
our first stop was LAX
while there ben spotted one of the contestants from american idol
it wasn't long after that we ran into a whole group of them
HOWEVER
ben wanted nothing to do with meeting them
he went and hid in a store
while alex and drew met them and took a picture
from LAX we headed for honolulu
drew sat next to a nice guy
who taught him all about how to play blackjack
we were SO glad that a lot of the HNL airport is outdoors
it was amazing to feel that tropical air
and
stacey couldn't get enough of the sunshine
this was our first ever interisland flight
it was fun to see both oahu and maui from the air
a beautiful flight ...
but we were SO happy to finally arrive on maui!
THEN ...
within minutes of arriving
it start downpouring
we quickly packed up
and headed for our resort -
the rain started to let up
AND THEN
we hit dead stopped traffic!
we were only a mile from our resort
but an accident was blocking all 4 lanes
and there is ONE road -
so with that road blocked we had no choice but to sit
what should have taken us a few minutes took us over an hour -
BUT
eventually we got moving and got settled into our room -
we had been awake for almost 24 hours straight
and were SO excited to FINALLY relax
