the next morning we woke up
bright and early
for the sunrise whale watch
it was beautiful out so early
BUT
a little chilly ...
2 layers of long sleeves chilly
we had been seeing SO many whales from the shore all week
i was hoping we would get a good show -
in the past we have had really good experiences
we've seen a mom teaching a baby to breach
a competition pod
BBC filming for a documentary
this year wasn't quite so exciting
BUT ...
we did have a mom bring her baby up to our boat
or as the whale foundation puts it -
we got mugged
they were SO close
and just stayed right there
the captain of our boat asked if anyone had a gopro camera
my dad said that he did
and the captain told him to drop it down into the water -
i was SO impressed -
he got the clearest video of the mom and baby swimming under the water!

where we experienced something we hadn't before -
thinking we need to start taking 2 per trip
