yesterday was ben's first ever REAL soccer game! the time has finally come where he is old enough that he gets to be on an actual U5 team and play REAL games :) these first games are so fun to watch because the kids are SO random. most of the kids just chase after the ball in one big clump! the others either climb the net or dig holes in the field :)
here are a few highlights from yesterday:
* ben played goalie and stopped the one shot that came to him!!
*ben took the ball all the way from one end of the field to the other - a few times!
*there was a little boy on ben's team who plopped himself into a lawn chair on the sideline and refused to move. he would just yell "NO" back to his coach and dad everytime they told him to get out on the field because it was his turn to play. (it always makes me feel good to surround myself with people like this. ha ha)
AND THE TOP HIGHLIGHT:
*getting to the soccer field to find that ben's shorts were way too big AND realizing that yet again he was trying to impress the ladies by not wearing anything underneath.
