drew's thoughts on first grade - 3 days later

"wow ... first grade is really just a lot of hard work!"


it's funny how much of a change this is.

for drew: he is SO worn out. he doesn't want to be - but he is.
he's SO emotional about even the smallest things.
hopefully this weekend will be a good break for him.

for me: my days are MUCH more quiet. however ... i have to use that time to prepare because those few hours immediately after school are pure chaos. i know that will change. or i should say i HOPE that will change! but for now ... ben is SO excited to see drew. drew really just needs some down time away from everybody. and the combination of those 2 -- well, doesn't mesh so well :)

overall though, i can honestly say it's been a good week. it's been SO fun to see ben and alex together. it's a relationship that is so sweet and that we just don't get to see much of. it's been fun seeing drew adjust. he has really had a good time getting to know his teacher and make new friends. and it's been nice to get back into a routine.

i'm excited for next week. ben will start school and have something to occupy his time. drew will hopefully be getting more used to all the "hard work". and i will get to spend some alone time with alex that i have never before gotten. (that is ... alone time that isn't at 3 in the morning.)
